:STORY:
Rana Pratap Jayadev (Nara Rohith) is a rich youngster who is just returned to India after after completing post graduation in USA. He is insulted by a top police official during an argument. Rana wants to ruin the life of top cop by becoming a cop himself. He gets posted in a village near Kolleru. He comes across a couple of incidents which made him become a better man and a better government servant. Rest of the story is all about how he puts an end to the politician who is doing a grave injustice to the people around.

:ARTISTS PERFORMANCE:

Actors: Nara Rohith’s strength has always been dialogue delivery and unflinching expression while delivering those dialogues. However, he should watch his weight as it’s affecting his body language which is very important for the character to work. Vishakha Singh is good looking and fits the bill. Rao Ramesh has given a comprehensive performance as the local politician. Gollapudi Maruthi Rao is excellent as a poor man. Ajay is effective with a single mannerism. Posani Krishna Murali offers entertainment as a theater owner who exhibits B-Grade movies.

:TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT:

Story - screenplay - direction: Though named as ‘Rowdy Fellow’, the story is about social justice. There are killings and there is a mystery. A cop who is having a whale of a time romancing the girl takes his position too seriously to do justice to people. Lyricist turned director Krishna Chaitanya sparkles with style and dialogues. However, there is no depth in the content and no emotional connect in vital scenes. More time should have been spent on the script before going into the sets as there are few loose ends at the story level. Screenplay should have been gripping.

:OTHER DEPARTMENT:

Sunny MR has done a fabulous work with songs and background music. He has brought an attitude to the movie with his music. Om (a protege of PC Sreeram) adds the required rustic mood to the movie with visuals. Dialogues by Krishna Chaitanya are good. There are fun dialogues like ‘Maa Pedda Nanna CM aithe’ as well as thoughtful dialogues like ‘aasa ki aakaliki madhyalo avasaram vuntundi’. Editing by Karthik Srinivas is fair. Production values by new producer Prakash Reddy are good.
:REVIEW ANALYSIS:
Rowdy Fellow is an attempt narrate a story of an egoist turning into good Samaritan by doing selfless help to the people in a village. Plus points of the film are music, cinematography and dialogues. The negative points are lack of depth in subject, loose ends and snail-paced narration. On a whole, Rowdy Fellow is a good attempt to make a stylish yet different film.
